Ice machine repair and service in Antalya
Fault diagnosis, repair, descaling and sanitising for ice machines in hotels, restaurants and catering businesses. We diagnose water circuit, water pump, refrigeration system and sensor faults by measurement.

Common faults and symptoms
An ice machine is both a refrigeration unit and a water appliance. Faults usually come from two places: the water circuit (scale, filter, pump) and the refrigeration side (condenser, fan, refrigerant). Because ice is food, sanitising is also part of maintenance.
- 01
No ice at all
The machine seems to be running, but no ice drops into the bin.
Possible causes- Closed water valve or blocked water filter
- Faulty water pump or water inlet valve
- Compressor or fan fault, refrigerant leak
- Bin-full sensor detecting incorrectly
- 02
Too little, small or misshapen ice
Production drops and the cubes come out thin or half-formed.
Possible causes- Limescale on the evaporator and water distributor
- Dirty condenser or high room temperature
- Low water pressure
- Ice thickness sensor adjustment
- 03
Cloudy ice, or ice that smells or tastes bad
The ice is not clear and leaves a smell or taste in drinks.
Possible causes- Scale, biofilm or mould in the water circuit
- Water filter not replaced
- Bin not cleaned regularly
- 04
Cubes sticking together or not releasing
Ice falls as a block or stays on the evaporator.
Possible causes- Problem with the harvest (release) cycle
- Scaled evaporator surface
- Sensor fault
- 05
Leaking water
Too much water collects under the machine or in the bin.
Possible causes- Blocked drain line
- Loose hose connections
- Overflowing water sump or faulty float
- 06
Very noisy operation
Constant noise from the fan or the pump.
Possible causes- Fan motor or fan blade
- Water pump bearings
- Loose compressor connections
What we check during a service visit
- Water inlet, water pressure and water filter
- Water pump, water distributor and nozzles
- Scale on the evaporator and the harvest cycle
- Condenser, fans and ventilation
- Compressor, refrigerant pressures and leak check
- Ice thickness and bin-full sensors
- Drain line and hoses
- Test production after descaling and sanitising
Every job ends with a written service report: symptom, diagnosis, work done and test result on one page.
Before you call us
These checks are safe to do and make it easier to describe the fault.
- Check that the water valve supplying the machine is open.
- Make sure ice or an object is not blocking the bin-full sensor.
- Make sure the ventilation openings around the machine are not blocked.
- If there is a warning light or error code, take a photo of it.
Do not work on the electrical panel, the gas line or the refrigerant circuit yourself; switch the unit off and call us.
Maintenance tips
These are general recommendations; the instructions and values in your unit’s manual always take priority.
Every day
- Take ice only with a clean scoop; never by hand or with a glass.
- Do not leave the scoop inside the bin; keep it in a clean, dry place.
- Do not keep the bin door open unnecessarily.
Every week
- Clean the bin door and the outside surfaces.
- With the unit switched off, remove dust from the air intake grille.
- Check whether water is collecting around the drain.
At scheduled maintenance (technical service)
- Descaling and sanitising (disinfection) of the water circuit
- Water filter replacement
- Condenser cleaning and fan check
- Check of sensors, water pump and refrigerant pressures
Frequently asked questions
Why is my ice machine not making ice?
First check the water valve and the filter; without water the machine cannot make ice. If water is coming in, the cause may be the water pump, a scaled evaporator, a dirty condenser, the fan or a refrigerant leak. If the bin-full sensor detects incorrectly, the machine thinks the bin is full and stops production.
How often should an ice machine be cleaned?
Daily and weekly cleaning can be done by your staff. How often the water circuit needs descaling and sanitising depends on the manufacturer’s manual, the water hardness and how dusty and humid the location is; many manufacturers recommend it at least twice a year. If the ice turns cloudy or picks up a smell or taste, cleaning is needed straight away.
Why is the ice small and misshapen?
Usually scale on the evaporator, low water pressure or a condenser that cannot release heat disrupts ice formation. If the room is very hot, the machine makes ice more slowly and in smaller pieces. Descaling and cleaning the condenser often restores production; if not, the sensors and the refrigeration side need to be measured.
Does an ice machine need a water filter?
In hard water, a filter or softening slows scale build-up on the evaporator and keeps the ice clear. Filters fill up over time; the replacement interval depends on water consumption, water hardness and the filter type. Check the unit’s manual for the right type and interval.
